πŸ“’ **Advancing the Rights of Children with Disabilities in Fiji πŸ‡«πŸ‡―**

The **National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD)** welcomes the launch of the **Baseline Study on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Children with Disabilities in Fiji** by the Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission.

This important study provides valuable evidence to better understand the experiences, barriers and challenges faced by children with disabilities in Fiji. It will help strengthen policies, programmes and services that promote their **rights, protection, inclusion, accessibility and meaningful participation**.

NCPD recognises the importance of working collaboratively with Government, civil society organisations, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), development partners, families and communities to ensure that children with disabilities are included in decisions that affect their lives.

The study also reinforces Fiji's commitments under the **Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)** and the **Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)**.

NCPD acknowledges the Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission, UN Human Rights Pacific and all partners who contributed to this important initiative.

We look forward to supporting continued collaboration and action so that **every child with a disability in Fiji can enjoy their rights, participate meaningfully and have equal opportunities to reach their full potential.**

**NCPD Western Vocational Training Centre Receives Generous Support from FASANOC**

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) proudly acknowledges the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) for the generous handover of sports equipment and wheelie bins to the **NCPD Western Vocational Training Centre**.

This valuable donation will greatly benefit our trainees by creating opportunities to participate in sports and recreational activities that promote physical health, confidence, teamwork, inclusion, and overall well-being. Sport has the power to inspire, empower, and bring people together, and we are excited for our trainees to enjoy these opportunities.

The wheelie bins will also play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment while encouraging good hygiene and environmental responsibility throughout the Centre.

We sincerely thank FASANOC for its continued commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and promoting inclusive opportunities within our communities.

We look forward to strengthening our partnership and working together to empower more persons with disabilities through sport, education, and community engagement.

**Vinaka vakalevu, FASANOC, for your generosity and support.**
