CALLOUT: A busy Monday evening in Dovedale saw the team respond to reports of a casualty who had fallen around six metres from rocks near the Stepping Stones, sustaining injuries to their back, arm and foot.

While the incident was ongoing, team members also carried out a search for a possible second emergency nearby following an automated phone alert, including use of the team drone.

Yesterday we attended the Spring Bank Scout and Guide Camp at Drum Hill, with an estimated attendance of around 1,500, with at least 900 being young people.

The weather was perfect and we had a constant stream of people visiting our display to have a go at the various activities, asking questions and engaging with the team.

Congratulations to six of our trainees: Andy, Andy, Ewen, Leigh, Rob and Steve on becoming fully operational team members.

They’ve earned the coveted Red Jacket and a place on the callout list for everything from early morning wake up calls and missing person searches to injured walkers and rope rescues.

🐾 CALLOUT: Three walkers and two dogs were assisted to safety after becoming stranded on steep ground near the West Window at Thor’s Cave.
Members of the public heard calls for help and alerted emergency services. Team members established rope systems within the cave to safely access the group and bring them to safety.
One casualty with ankle and hand injuries was carefully lowered to the valley floor before being evacuated from the scene.
A challenging rescue in a spectacular location — with a good outcome for everyone involved, including the dogs 🐾
