🔦Spotlight of the Week 🔦

This week we’re celebrating the amazing work of NEWCIS — a service that has been standing beside unpaid carers across North East Wales for over 25 years. 🎉

Whether you need information, emotional support, respite, assessments or someone who understands the challenges of caring, NEWCIS is here to help. Their mission is simple: to ensure every carer feels supported, valued and empowered. 🌟

They also champion young carers and young adult carers, making sure no young person carrying a caring role feels overlooked.🎗

A brighter, more supported future for carers starts with organisations like NEWCIS.

NEWCIS are on hand in the Wellbeing hub Monday- Thursday 1pm-4pm.

📢 Important Update: Our face-to-face appointments with SNAP Cymru will be coming to an end on 1st July.

These appointments have been made possible through National Lottery Community Fund funding, and we are incredibly grateful for the support that has enabled us to offer this service to so many families.

💜 Need education information and advice after July?

SNAP Cymru has introduced a new referral system, meaning parent carers no longer need to wait in a queue to access support.

If you would like to access this service but are unsure how to complete the referral, we can support you with making a referral and guide you through the process.

Education Information 🏫
Is your child experiencing difficulties within the education system? Find it confusing when you ask for support for your child within their education setting? Here's your opportunity to find out more to support your child.

Carers are able to book face to face appointments with SNAP Cymru at NEWCIS, Mold, CH7 1BH, on the 1st Tuesday monthly from 9.30am-12.30pm.

Will Writing with Celtic Law 📃
Have you thought about writing your will, but aren’t sure where to start? Having a will in place is one of the most important things you can do to protect the people you love and ensure your wishes are carried out.

You’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to create a clear, legally sound will. The session will guide you through the essentials in a supportive, straightforward way, helping to make the process feel far less overwhelming.

Support group for Carers caring for someone with dementia - Carers Week celebration ☕🍰
To support carers week (albeit a few weeks later!), we invite you to join us for tea, cake and conversation.

Our friendly support group is open to anyone caring for a loved one living with dementia. Its a chance to meet others who understand, share experiences and access guidance and support.

We'll be at Working Denbighshire Coffee, Cake and Chat on 1st July launching our NEW Trailblazer Project 💜

The project provides personalised support to help carers build confidence, develop life skills, improve wellbeing, access learning opportunities, gain work or volunteering experience, and strengthen their job-search skills. Its aim is to empower carers to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals while balancing their caring responsibilities.

💙 What an incredible Carers Week 2026! 💙

Earlier this month, the NEWCIS team connected with carers across Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham, celebrating the invaluable contribution they make every day.

During Carers Week we:
👥 Spoke to 70 new carers in the community across Denbighshire County Council Cyngor Sir y Fflint / Flintshire County Council and Wrexham County Borough Council helping them access information, support and services.
🎉 We welcomed 120 carers to our special Celebration Event at Clawdd Offa Farm, where carers enjoyed a well-deserved day of relaxation, connection and appreciation.
It was wonderful to see so many carers coming together, sharing experiences and taking some time for themselves.

Wall of Art Workshop 👩‍🎨
Our garden art project will be taking shape with two previous events, we would love it if you will come along and choose a prepared wooden panel or two to decorate. Whilst your there enjoy a brew and a natter with likeminded carer’s or just a potter in the garden if you feel like it.

Disposable gloves and aprons will be available on the day.
