| A brothel linked to prostitution-related activity in Chadderton has been shut down following action take by your Neighbourhood Team.

A three-month Closure Order has now been granted for premises on Broadway, preventing access and helping protect vulnerable women from exploitation while reducing associated crime and anti-social behaviour.

This significant result was made possible through partnership working, community intelligence and the dedication of officers determined to tackle long-standing concerns in the area.

| Scott Beard (12/08/1971) of Berry Brow, has been charged with keeping a brothel used for prostitution.

This relate to a warrant executed by the Neighbourhood Team in Chadderton yesterday (14/10/2026).

He has been bailed and will appear at Tameside Magistrate Court on 18/12/2026.

| This morning (14 October 2026), officers from the Oldham Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant at a premises on Broadway, Oldham, suspected of operating as a brothel following years of intelligence gathering and community concerns.

At around 4.45am, neighbourhood officers, supported by TAU, entered the address. A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences and possession of Class A drugs after safeguarding measures were put in place. A man believed to own the premises was later arrested on suspicion of controlling prostitution for gain.

As a result, a Closure Notice has been served on the premises. A court hearing is scheduled for Friday 16 October, where officers will seek a Closure Order.

Neighbourhood Inspector Amie Whitehead said: "Controlling prostitution for gain is a serious offence often linked to the exploitation of vulnerable people.

"This action demonstrates the value of information from our communities. Intelligence from local residents and businesses helped officers build the evidence needed to take action and safeguard those who may be at risk.

"If you have concerns about similar activity in your area or believe someone may be being exploited, please report it to us. Every piece of information helps."

| A woman is due to appear in court charged with offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

Dorota Jagielska, (13/07/1985) of Striding Edge Walk, Oldham, has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and failing in the duty of a person responsible for animals to ensure welfare.
She will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (06/10/2026).

The charges have been made in connection with an investigation which has seen officers seize 49 dogs from a home in Oldham.
