Share the Warmth this Autumn at Torquay Library 🧣🧥

​As the colder weather sets in, we’re collecting good-quality, clean winter coats, scarves, hats, and gloves to support our local community and keep warm clothes in use rather than in landfill.

​Passing on winter wear you’ve outgrown or no longer need is a brilliant way to protect the planet, whilst also ensuring everyone in Torquay stays cosy this year!

Can you help us share the books everyone wants to read this month? 📚

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

Join us on Thursday 29th October for an informative 30min talk all about our feline friends and how to care for them. There will be time for questions, followed by a fun cat-themed creative session using recyclable materials.

Bug Hotels 🪲
Help local wildlife thrive right on your doorstep! Join us to craft your very own mini bug hotel using natural, recycled materials. Take it home, pop it in your garden, and give solitary bees, ladybirds, and other creepy-crawlies a safe, cosy shelter this winter.

Bird Boxes 🐦
Build a lasting home for Torquay’s birds! Teams will assemble and decorate sturdy wooden bird boxes, which will then be installed at Stoodley Knowle meadow. Pop along, get building, then visit the meadow later to see if you can spot your creation in use!

Both events are free, but booking is required. So pop in, drop us an email or give us a call to book your space today 💚

There will be a Dr Bike session in association with Cycle Torbay CIC, so bring your bike along for a FREE safety check and essential maintenance and advice. Not only that, we will also have a super special smoothie bike - burn some calories and earn yourself a free smoothie! 🥤🔧🚴
