Laying the foundation for the next phase of Ghana’s digital transformation.

The Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, through the Ghana Digital Acceleration Project (GDAP), engaged industry players and prospective service providers in an early market engagement session on two key initiatives: the development of a new eGovernment Services Portal and the upgrade and refresh of Ghana’s National Data Centres.

The engagement provided an opportunity to share project objectives, gather industry insights, and foster collaboration towards building secure, resilient, and citizen-centred digital public infrastructure that will enhance service delivery across government.

More Than 12,000 Learners Complete Courses Under One Million Coders Program

Just weeks after the commencement of Phase Two of the One Million Coders Program (OMCP) on 11 May, thousands of Ghanaians are already translating opportunity into achievement.

Latest analytics from the program’s learning platforms indicate that 12,623 course completions have been recorded since the start of Phase Two, a remarkable milestone that underscores the growing enthusiasm among Ghanaians to acquire digital and coding skills for the future.

The figure reflects more than just completed courses. It represents thousands of individuals who have taken decisive steps toward improving their employability, enhancing their businesses, advancing their careers, and preparing for opportunities in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

Across the country, participants from diverse backgrounds continue to embrace the program. Students, teachers, entrepreneurs, market women, young professionals, parents, persons with disabilities, and public servants are all taking advantage of the flexible learning opportunities offered under the initiative.

The achievement also highlights the increasing demand for digital skills in Ghana and the success of efforts to make technology education accessible to all. Through a combination of in-person training centres, virtual instruction, and self-paced online learning, the program is ensuring that no Ghanaian is left behind in the country’s digital transformation journey.

For the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, the milestone serves as an early indication that the vision behind the One Million Coders Program is taking root. The goal is not simply to train people, but to build a generation of digitally empowered citizens capable of creating solutions, securing jobs, launching businesses, and contributing meaningfully to national development.

As enrolment continues and more participants progress through their chosen learning paths, the number of course completions is expected to grow significantly in the coming weeks and months.

With 12,623 course completions already achieved since 11 May, the One Million Coders Program is steadily demonstrating that when opportunity meets determination, transformation follows.
