Preserving heritage. Keeping traditions alive.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs has today entered into an MoU with the Archaeological Survey of India and Key Gompa (Key Monastery), Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, for the restoration and conservation of Key Gompa and the preservation of its heritage.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of PM VIKAS focuses on preserving and propagating the rich cultural heritage of minority communities, including traditional arts, crafts and cultural practices. Through documentation, preservation, cultural exchanges and other community-oriented initiatives, the component seeks to ensure that India’s diverse cultural traditions remain visible and continue to thrive.

Another milestone in the Ministry’s commitment to preserving India’s rich cultural heritage and ensuring that traditional practices continue to thrive.

There are multiple pathways to inclusive development.

It takes stronger infrastructure to build access, skills to create opportunities, finance to enable enterprise and support to preserve the cultural fabric of communities.

Through diverse programmes and initiatives, the Ministry of Minority Affairs works across these interconnected areas to expand opportunities and contribute to more inclusive growth.

As India moves towards Viksit Bharat @2047, inclusive development remains an essential part of the journey - where opportunity, empowerment and progress move together.
