The event will feature a calligraphy performance, a presentation on Japanese calligraphy, and a workshop (limited capacity).

Japanese Calligraphy or "Shodo" is a traditional art form that expresses words and emotions through the beauty of lines drawn with a brush and ink.

On 10 September 2026, Ambassador Asazuma delivered a speech at the Africa Green Industries Summit held in Swakopmund, focusing on Japan's initiatives in the green industry sector.
The Ambassador highlighted, in particular, the expanding involvement of Japanese companies and relevant organizations in Namibia's energy and resources sectors.
The Ambassador also stated that the Government of Japan will steadily advance efforts to harness Namibia's green industry potential by strengthening collaboration with the Government of Namibia, businesses, financial institutions, and international partners.

On 11 September 2026, Ambassador Asazuma received a courtesy call from two newly arrived Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV), Ms. Misa Hayashi and Mr. Ryohei Fujimoto.

Ms. Hayashi will be assigned to the Outjo Municipality in Kunene Region, where she will engage in community development activities aimed at improving local livelihoods, revitalizing communities, and promoting tourism. Mr. Fujimoto will be assigned to Ubasen Primary School in Omaruru, Erongo Region, where he will support
mathematics education, including improving teachers' instructional skills and organizing workshops for educators.

Ambassador Asazuma expressed his expectation for their future activities and encouraged them to serve as bridges between Japan and Namibia through engagement with local communities and the promotion of Japanese culture.

On 28 August 2026, Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Sadamoto received a courtesy call from Hon. Leonard Shikulo, Member of the National Council for the Okahao Constituency in Omusati Region.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on the situation in the Okahao Constituency, particularly on educational issues and the conditions facing local schools. Discussions focused on challenges in the education sector and ongoing efforts to improve the learning environment.

Mr. Sadamoto explained Japan's past assistance in Omusati Region and expressed his expectations for further development of the friendly relations and exchanges between Japan and Namibia.

On 23 August 2026, Ambassador Misako Takahashi, Director-General of African Affairs Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), met with Ms. Mizuki Dazai, a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer (JOCV), over lunch in Usakos.

Ms. Dazai is assigned to the Usakos Town Council, where she is engaged in environmental education and awareness-raising activities. During the meeting, she explained her activities, daily life in the local community, and observations on local challenges and developments in Usakos.

Amb. Takahashi listened to Ms. Dazai's efforts and said,
“I am deeply moved by her dedication on the front lines of international cooperation.”

On 25 August 2026, Ambassador Misako Takahashi, Director-General of the African Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), had a meeting with Dr Joseph Ndinoshiho, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Namibia (UNAM).

They exchanged views on strengthening collaboration between UNAM and Japanese educational institutions, as well as on further cooperation in the areas of human resource development and people-to-people exchanges.

Following the meeting, Amb. Takahashi inspected the fire engine and ambulances provided to the UNAM under Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

On 25 August 2026, Ambassdor Misako Takahashi, Director-General of the African Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), had a meeting with Mr. Moses Pakote, Executive Director of Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy (MIME). They exchanged views on further promoting bilateral economic cooperation, particularly collaboration in the mineral resources and energy sectors.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation in these areas, the promotion of investment and business ties, and strengthening public–private collaboration to promote the activities of Japanese companies, and agreed to continue working closely together.

On 24 August 24 2026, Amb. Misako Takahashi, Director-General of the African Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), met with Amb. Jerobeam Shaanika, Executive Director, and Ms. Ndiitah Nghipondoka-Robiati, Deputy Executive Director, of Ministry of International Relations and Trade. They exchanged views on further enhancing Japan–Namibia bilateral relations.
