Miss World have been announced as Regional Finalists for the Smokefree Rockquest North Shore Bands category after their epic performance of their original song ‘Puppy Eyes’. The NorthShore Regional Finals will be held from 7pm on Saturday June 6 at the Dorothy Winstone Centre (Auckland Girls’ Grammar School). The band would love to see as many people as possible there in support of their journey towards the National Finals!

Congratulations to Noah Dickens (Year 11), who has been selected as a National Finalist for the Play It Strange Junior Songwriting Competition for his original song ‘All I Want’. Noah will get to have his song professionally recorded and released via streaming platforms later in the year.

Pink shirt day is this Friday. Wear a pink shirt/ top to raise awareness for the Anti-Bullying cause. We all want BC to be a kind and inclusive place so get involved. The class with the most pink shirts will win a pizza lunch!!! Reminder: It is not a full Mufti-day nor a gold coin donation - Pink shirts only!

Miss World joined over 100 other rangatahi at Big Fan for the inaugural Music Careers Expo, where they gained valuable industry knowledge, while networking their way to new opportunities. Thanks to and everyone involved putting on this event. We also invite you to come and watch Miss World perform tomorrow, Friday 15th May at their final Smokefree Rockquest North Shore Heats, at the Dorothy Winston Centre (Auckland Girls Grammar).

Auckland Council Academic Awards Night 2026 was celebrated on 30 April in partnership with Auckland Council, Aotearoa Resettled Community Coalition (ARCC), Welcoming Communities, and the Ministry of Education.
Congratulations to Shiwan and Victor, who proudly represented Birkenhead College at this special event celebrating high-achieving Auckland secondary students from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
