Registrations are now open for Her Future.

This is a new program we are running. It is a fully funded 6 week program for wāhine ready to create direction, explore what’s possible and start taking meaningful action towards what comes next.

During the 6 weeks you will create a 90 day plan and be supported to achieve one goal, for some that will be employment and for others it may be emotional stability or getting your license.

This program requires a level of readiness with participants expected to be approximately 3-6 months out of immediate crisis or significant instability and ready to focus on what comes next.

If you’re currently experiencing instability or crisis we encourage you to join the waitlist for our reintegration program which is designed to support earlier stages of rebuilding.

One of my favourite parts to what we are building is the pathway into self employment and support as they move into the next season of their life.

Our studio currently has 5 wāhine working together in a collaborative space alongside MAHDUSA - CHRISTCHURCH BRAIDER we’ve created a funky space where they can show up as themselves and so can clients.

If you want to support our wāhine you can book services at For Her | Beauty Studio Ōtautahi

Week 8 of our wāhine reintegration program and we spent the first half of the program looking at capacity, routine and accountability and then the second of the program learning about lash health, styling and even practiced application.

Some wāhine will move into beauty but for others it’s just the experience of learning a new skill and showing themselves they are capable of learning and doing hard things it builds capacity in trust in themselves.

Today we also celebrated two wāhine one for being 4 weeks off w**d and for another one who started the program closed off and has opened so much. We gave some goodies out and celebrated the wāhine.

Also just look at the beautiful space we get to work from 🥰 so grateful to Brother Tip Tattoo & Art the generosity of allowing us to hold the program in their space has allowed us to have a bigger group and look at the impact it’s having 🥰

It really takes a village 🤍

We spoke about this yesterday at our wāhine group … recovery is important we don’t deny that it’s a crucial part of the journey but so is building a life beyond what you’re recovering from.

And that’s not to say a lapse won’t take place in the reintegration process but at For Her we believe healing also needs somewhere to go, purpose beyond your past.

We’re now officially over halfway of our reintegration program and moving into empowered skill learning.

We’ve spent the last 6 weeks looking at patterns, capacity and the things that have fueled addiction or harm and now it’s time to move forward.

Not everyone who learns beauty in our program will want to work in beauty but it’s about building confidence and showing the wāhine they are capable of doing hard things.

So exciting 🥰
