Our Horowhenua College Hip Hop crew, FIERCE, travelled to Tauranga to compete at Project Dance Competition for the very first time — and they absolutely smashed it! 🔥

With the support and guidance of Whaea Willow, Caitlin, and Sjan, the crew achieved an incredible 5th place out of 14 secondary school crews. This is a huge accomplishment, especially considering the exceptionally high standard of talent in the dance scene right now, with some of the country’s most skilled dancers and choreographers taking the stage.

A special shout-out to our talented choreographer, Whaea Willow, and our dedicated dancers whose hard work, passion, and commitment continue to put Horowhenua College and Levin on the map 📍✨

We are so proud of everything this crew has achieved and can’t wait to see what comes next for FIERCE! ❤️🤍

This week our Service Academy students have been in the Remutaka ranges for a bushcraft course.

Students are completely immersed in backcountry environments and learn core wilderness skill. Some of the skills they learn are survival skills in which they build improvised shelters, light fires using flint and steel, and source water. They also learn navigation skills such as map reading, compass use and route planning.

This is a fantastic course for our students and we are thankful to the NZ defence force for providing this opportunity for our academy.
