You may have noticed something rather special taking shape at Natureland.

Turns out one of our food prep volunteers has a sneaky amazing artistic talent!

When she’s not chopping veggies and weighing out animal diets, Ebony has been busy creating a large mural in our Native Bird Aviary.

We are loving seeing the progress week after week and can’t wait to see the finished mural.

Keep an eye out as it comes to life ❤️

Come and enjoy the free Family Whānau Funday Sunday 20 of September from 11am to 2pm.

Loads of amazing hands-on arts activities to enjoy, including Bucket Drumming, Bubble Disco, Circus Skills, Flossie and her amazing balloon sculptures, leaf Craft, Family Dress Up and closing with the Amazing Twisty Twinz.

Please note, children under 16 have to come with a parent / caregiver.

Mark your calendars! Nurture at Home Education & Care Day is back at Natureland on 10 September, and it promises to be a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Entry is just $8 for both adults and children, with a full day of entertainment and activities planned. Local entertainers Faerie Lou, Flossy and the Zeelow Guys will be here, along with market stalls and food and drink carts.

It’s always a wonderful day when the Nurture@Home whānau come together at Natureland, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another fun-filled day. Bring the family, enjoy the entertainment, explore the park and make a day of it!

Happy World Primate Day! 🐒 ✨

Today, we’re swinging into a celebration of all primates across the globe, and giving an extra special shoutout to the amazing species we’re privileged to care for right here at Natureland Zoo! (and we don't mean the Keepers... 😉 )

From the tiny, inquisitive pygmy marmosets leaping through the trees to the vocal black-and-white ruffed lemurs keeping the forest vibrant, primates are vital to the health of their ecosystems. Many serve as key seed dispersers, earned them the title of "gardeners of the forest." Without them, entire tropical habitats would struggle to survive.

Unfortunately, many primate species face severe threats in the wild from habitat loss and deforestation. Celebrating them today is also a call to protect them. By supporting conservation efforts and learning more about these incredible animals, we can help ensure their wild habitats stay thriving for generations to come. 🌿
