Kumalat online ang mga post na nagsasabing “chichirya” ang ipinamahagi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa kanyang pagbisita sa Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

Pero ano nga ba talaga ang produktong ito?

Ang 𝑹𝒊𝒎𝒐 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒍𝒔 ay Rice-Mongo Curls, isang food technology na binuo ng DOST-Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI). Gawa ito mula sa bigas at munggo at idinisenyo bilang masustansyang snack, kabilang ang mga bersyong may nutritional fortification.

Sa mismong pagbisita ni Pangulong Marcos sa Nutridense Food Manufacturing Corporation (NFMC) noong Setyembre 17, 2026, ipinaliwanag niya na may mga produktong maaaring magmukhang ordinaryong snack o junk food, ngunit hindi ito chichirya dahil ito ay may dagdag na nutrients at ginagamit din sa mga programa para sa nutrisyon at school feeding.

Kaya bago maniwala sa mga kumakalat online, alamin muna ang buong kuwento. 👀

Mula sa research at laboratoryo, ang teknolohiyang ito ay naisalin sa aktuwal na produksyon sa tulong ng DOST at NFMC, para makapaghatid ng mga pagkaing may dagdag na nutritional value sa mga batang nangangailangan nito.

The JLSS program is one of the DOST undergraduate scholarship programs offered to 3rd-year college students currently enrolled in priority S&T courses at accredited universities. Qualifiers of this program will enjoy scholarship benefits such as tuition and other school fees, book allowance, and monthly stipends for two to three years. The scholarship is effective this 1st semester of AY 2026-2027.

Nineteen (19) potential qualifiers whose names do not appear in the published list were withheld, pending revalidation of some requirements. They will be advised on the submission of this information/documents the soonest.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Kindly expect the issuance of your Notice of Award (NOA) via the email address you used during the application period. The NOA will contain detailed information on the orientation schedule and additional instructions that must be complied with.

This extension applies only to applicants who have successfully registered in the E-Scholarship Application System on or before September 17, 2026.

Department of Science and Technology-CAR, through DOST-Baguio-Benguet, joined the Handog ng Pangulo held today, September 14, 2026, at the Benguet Sports Complex, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The simultaneous nationwide government service caravan brings together various government agencies in one venue to make public programs, financial assistance, and frontline services more accessible to communities.

During the event, DOST-Baguio-Benguet provided information, education, and communication (IEC) materials to students, MSMEs, and other beneficiaries, giving them access to information on DOST programs, services, and opportunities in science, technology, and innovation.

Through initiatives like Handog ng Pangulo, DOST continues to bring S&T services closer to the people and help communities discover opportunities that can support learning, and innovation.
