LOOK | The Department of Agriculture - Cordillera rolled out the distribution of the cash assistance under the Presidential Assistance for Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Program (PAFFP) at the Tublay Municipal Hall in Benguet today, June 2, 2026.

The PAFFP is a government initiative that provides unconditional cash assistance to registered agricultural workers under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture.

The program aims to cushion producers from rising fuel, production costs, and economic inflation.

More than 800 identified farmers from Tublay and La Trinidad will receive cash aid during the first day of the PAFFP payout in Benguet.

Marcos Jr. joins Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Juan Edgardo 'Sonny' Angara to lead the National Capital Region (NCR) Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off 2026 at Kapitbahayan Elementary School in Navotas City on June 2, 2026.

Carrying the theme 'Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,' this year’s Brigada Eskwela is being held nationwide from June 1 to 5 in preparation for the opening of classes on June 8, 2026.

During the event, President Marcos Jr. inspects ongoing school preparations and safety facilities, visits partner organizations’ booths, observes an ongoing 'Tara, Basa!' session that prepares Grade 2 learners to be grade-level ready, and participates in literacy activities, including a storytelling session with selected Grade 1 learners.

UPDATE | The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station said that the road obstruction at Upper Tomay along the Halsema Highway resulting from a fallen BENECO post has been cleared.

The affected roadway is now two lanes passable to all motorists.

Travelers are still advised to remain cautious and observe traffic conditions while passing through the area. (LTMPS)

The La Trinidad Municipal Police Station said that portion of Halsema Highway, particularly at Upper Tomay (near Yangbrew) in La Trinidad, Benguet is closed due to a fallen BENECO utility pole.

The incident occurred earlier today, June 2, 2026, and authorities are working to open the road to traffic.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes:

Going SOUTH from Halsema Highway: Take Shilan – Beckel – Nueva Vizcaya Road

Going NORTH: Take Nueva Vizcaya Road – Beckel – Shilan Road.

The LTMPS is advising the public to plan their trips accordingly and extend patience along the road. (LTMPS)

TINGNAN | Nakibahagi ang ilang learners ng Buyagan Elementary School sa Brigada Pagbasa Program na nagsimula nitong Hunyo 1, 2026.

Ang naturang inisyatibo ay partikular na idinisenyo para sa mga learners ng Grade 1 hanggang Grade 6 upang patatagin ang pundasyon nila sa aspeto ng pagbabasa at numeracy skills bago pa man opisyal na magsimula ang pasukan.

Layunin din ang eskwelahan na makahikayat ng volunteer service mula sa komunidad upang magsilbing dagdag na tutor para sa mga mag-aaral.

Ang Brigada Pagbasa ay ipatutupad hanggang Hunyo 5, bago ang ang pagbubukas ng klase sa Hunyo 8.

TINGNAN | Nagsama-sama ang mahigit 300 na magulang sa Buyagan Elementary School para sa pormal na pagbubukas ng Brigada Eskwela ngayong Hunyo 1, 2026.

Ang pagkakaisa ng komunidad ay nakatuon sa temang “Sama-sama para sa Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman” bilang paghahanda sa pagbabalik eskwela para sa School Year 2026-2027.

Sinimulan na rin ang mga gawain tulad ng paglilinis ng mga kanal at gutters, kaya pinaaalalahan ang mga kalahok na magdala ng working tools.
