School heads from public and private elementary schools across the Schools Division of Baguio City gathered at on August 5, 2026, for the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Orientation for School Commissioners.

The orientation highlighted the GSP's Mission, Vision, and Goals and underscored their alignment with the Department of Education's thrust of developing responsible, resilient, and service-oriented learners.

Atty. Betty Lourdes Tabanda, President of the GSP Baguio City Council, emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between schools and the GSP through the leadership of school heads. She also advocated for the granting of service credits to GSP troop leaders who devote their weekends to scouting activities in recognition of their invaluable service.

He emphasized the guiding principles of Quality, Expansion, and Sustainability in advancing the Girl Scouting movement and reaffirmed the organization's commitment to inclusivity, declaring, “No girl should be turned away because of economic reasons.”

The event also recognized the dedication of school leaders through spot awards for early registrants and participants who proudly wore their GSP uniforms. Selected schools with the highest number of registered Girl Scouts during School Year 2025–2026 were awarded metal detectors as incentives in recognition of their outstanding support for the movement. As a token of appreciation, all participants received umbrellas, symbolizing the GSP's gratitude for their unwavering commitment and continued partnership.
