Ating balikan ang mga butil ng inspirasyon mula kay G. Larry Galang, isa sa mga agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) mula sa bayan ng Sofronio Española, Palawan.

Para kay G. Larry, malaking hamon para sa sektor ng agrikultura ang aktibong partisipasyon ng mga kabataan, kung kaya’t hinihikayat nya ang mga ito na mag-enganyo sa pagsasaka upang matiyak ang seguridad sa pagkain ng ating komunidad.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The Field Validation Teams (FVTs) of the SPLIT Project Palawan are currently conducting documentation and validation activities across five (5) collective Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) in Busuanga, Palawan. These activities cover five (5) lots and are expected to benefit approximately 1,452 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs). The field validation activities commenced on May 11 and will run until May 23, 2026.

The activities involve case build-ups, verification of ARB records, validation of supporting documents, correction of inconsistencies in entries, and the preparation of the necessary legal and technical documents relative to the parcelization process. These initiatives form part of the SPLIT Project’s continuing commitment to strengthen land tenure security among ARBs through the issuance of individual land titles.

To ensure the efficient and timely conduct of the validation activities, five (5) FVTs were deployed to the field, with each team composed of the following: Legal Officer (Team Leader), Geodetic Engineer, Processor, Documenter, and an Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) Officer.

The deployed FVTs conducted field validation and documentation activities covering the following collective Original Certificates of Title (OCTs) and lots in various barangays of Busuanga, Palawan:

Kilalanin si 𝐆. 𝐋𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠, isang Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) mula sa 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫, 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐨 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐚ñ𝐨𝐥𝐚, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧.

Sa loob ng mahigit 27 taon bilang benepisyaryo ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), masipag niyang napaunlad ang kaniyang lupang sakahan sa pamamagitan ng pagtatanim ng dwarf coconuts at iba’t ibang high-value crops. Bukod sa pagiging ARB, si G. Larry ay kasalukuyan ding nagsisilbi bilang miyembro ng Sangguniang Bayan ng Española.

Dahil sa kaniyang sipag, dedikasyon, at mahusay na pamamahala sa sakahan, kinilala ng Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) ang kaniyang lupain bilang isang Learning Site for Agriculture.

Tunghayan ang kuwento ng tagumpay ni G. Larry Galang—isang patunay na sa tamang pagsisikap at malasakit sa lupa, posible ang pag-unlad at mas magandang kinabukasan.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: The Department of Agrarian Reform – Palawan, in partnership with Project SPLIT, successfully conducted its “𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗧 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴” activity on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Skylight Convention Center in Puerto Princesa City.

Around 100 students from various schools in Palawan, together with several faculty members, actively participated in the half-day session. Participating schools included Palawan State University, Western Philippines University, Holy Trinity University, Palawan Polytechnic College, Inc., and STI College Palawan.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among Palaweño youth about the sectoral mandates of the Department and the objectives of Project SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling), which were discussed by Atty. Herryll T. Camacho, OIC-Attorney IV/Parcelization Component Coordinator. One of the highlights of the program was the keynote message delivered by Atty. Marvin V. Bernal, Regional Director, who shared valuable insights on agrarian reform and encouraged the youth to embrace the challenge of engaging in agriculture by integrating their knowledge of new technologies.

The activity was also attended by key personnel from the DAR MIMAROPA Regional Office and the DAR Palawan Provincial Office.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: College students from Palawan actively participated in the 𝙋𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙪𝙡𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮𝙤 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 2: 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙚 𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨, organized by DAR MIMAROPA, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Skylight Convention Center, DAR Palawan Office, Puerto Princesa City.

This workshop, conducted simultaneously across other provinces in MIMAROPA, was designed to equip students with the necessary skills and techniques to create compelling narratives for their short films for the PelikulAgraryo Film Festival.

In Palawan, two schools participated in the workshop: Palawan State University (PalSU) and STI College Palawan. They will serve as the official representatives of Palawan in the competition and are hopeful to bring pride and honor to the Palaweño community.

Following the workshop, the production teams are expected to commence full-scale production of their respective short films, highlighting the inspiring stories of agrarian reform beneficiaries.
