Consultation Meeting with Sangguniang Kabataan
On September 6, 2026, at about 3:00 PM, personnel of Sta. Catalina Municipal Police Station, composed of PSSg Estrelita Regua and PSSg Patrick S P**a, under the supervision of PMAJ MEDEL A PERINION, Officer-in-Charge, conducted a consultation meeting with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) members at the Barangay Hall of Barangay Cabuloan, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur.
During the activity, discussions focused on Republic Act No. 8353, otherwise known as the “Anti-Rape Law of 1997,” and Republic Act No. 11313, otherwise known as the “Safe Spaces Act,” particularly on the prevention of r**e, sexual harassment, and other forms of gender-based sexual harassment. The participants were reminded of the importance of promoting awareness, respect, responsible behavior, and safe spaces among the youth and the community.
The activity aimed to strengthen the awareness and understanding of the SK members regarding laws and preventive measures against sexual violence and harassment, while encouraging them to actively participate in crime prevention initiatives within their community.
This activity was conducted in line with the observance of the 32nd National Crime Prevention Week, emphasizing the importance of community participation, youth engagement, and public awareness in preventing crimes and promoting a safe, peaceful, and secure community.
