A decisão do Governo de Israel de avançar com o projeto E1 deve ser fortemente condenada. A expansão de colonatos — neste caso a construção de 1200 habitações na Cisjordânia — afasta as partes ainda mais da solução de dois Estados, consolidando a separação entre o Norte e o Sul da Cisjordânia.
Os sucessivos atos de violência cometidos por colonos israelitas na Cisjordânia, tão nocivos a uma paz negociada, também não podem ficar impunes.
Portugal, com a UE e a Comunidade Internacional, não desistirá de apelar a que as partes alcancem uma paz justa, abrangente e duradoura, cumprindo as determinações de direito internacional.

The Israeli Government’s decision to proceed with the E1 project must be strongly condemned. The expansion of settlements—in this case, the construction of 1,200 housing units in the West Bank—moves the parties even further away from a two-State solution, consolidating the separation between the northern and southern parts of the West Bank.
The repeated acts of violence committed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank, which are so detrimental to a negotiated peace, must also not go unpunished.
Portugal, together with the EU and the international community, will not cease calling on the parties to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting peace, in compliance with the requirements of international law.
