เมื่อวันที่ ๑๙ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๙ เอกอัครราชทูตอรุณรุ่ง โพธิ์ทอง ฮัมฟรีย์ส พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงสตอกโฮล์ม ข้าราชการทีมประเทศไทย พร้อมเจ้าหน้าที่และครอบครัว เข้าร่วมพิธีน้อมรำลึกในโอกาสครบรอบ ๑๒๙ ปี การเสด็จประพาสเมืองรากุนดาของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ณ อาคารพระบรมราชานุสรณ์พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ที่เมืองบิสพ์เกอร์เดน เทศบาลรากุนดา โดยมีนาย Anton Hammar นายกเทศมนตรีเมืองรากุนดา ให้การต้อนรับ พร้อมด้วยพี่น้องชาวไทยและชาวสวีเดนที่เดินทางมาร่วมงานกว่า ๔๐๐ คน
ในโอกาสนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวน้อมรำลึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณของพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว พร้อมยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นของสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ในการสานต่อความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างไทย-สวีเดน ขณะที่นายกเทศมนตรีเมืองรากุนดาได้กล่าวยืนยันถึงความสำคัญของพระบรมราชานุสรณ์ฯ ที่มีบทบาทเชื่อมโยงสองประเทศมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง และเป็นรากฐานที่ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สวีเดนใกล้ชิดและก้าวหน้าในทุกมิติ พร้อมทั้งได้กล่าวแสดงความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง และการสิ้นพระชนม์ของสมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกเธอ เจ้าฟ้าพัชรกิติยาภา นเรนทิราเทพยวดี กรมหลวงราชสาริณีสิริพัชร มหาวัชรราชธิดา ในนามของเทศบาลเมืองรากุนดาและประชาชนชาวสวีเดน
กิจกรรมที่สำคัญของงานในปีนี้ คือการแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยจำนวน ๗ ชุด โดยวงมหาดุริยางค์ไทยเยาวชนแห่งจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย (CHULA ThaiYo) ซึ่งเดินทางมาจากประเทศไทยเป็นการเฉพาะ ประกอบด้วยบทเพลงโหมโรง Mahachulalongkorn Overture การแสดงนาฏศิลป์ถวายพระเกียรติรัชกาลที่ ๕ การแสดงโขนเรื่องรามเกียรติ์ตอนยกรบ ชุดการแสดงในชุดไทยพระราชนิยม ๘ แบบ การบรรเลงเพลงลาวแพน การแสดงโนราในพิธีบวงสรวง และการแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทยร่วมสมัยที่ประพันธ์ขึ้นใหม่เฉพาะโอกาสนี้ ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับจากผู้ชมอย่างมาก สร้างความประทับใจให้แก่ทั้งชุมชนชาวไทยและชาวสวีเดนที่ร่วมงาน
นอกจากการแสดงบนเวทีแล้ว บรรยากาศภายในงานยังคึกคักไปด้วยซุ้มร้านค้าของชุมชนชาวไทยในสวีเดน ซึ่งร่วมกันออกร้านจำหน่ายอาหารไทยและขนมไทยหลากหลายชนิด ตลอดจนสินค้าและผลิตภัณฑ์จากประเทศ ซึ่งได้รับความสนใจจากทั้งชาวไทยและชาวสวีเดนเป็นจำนวนมาก และถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งช่องทางสำคัญในการเผยแพร่วิถีชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมไทยสู่สาธารณชนในพื้นที่ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ขอขอบคุณทุกภาคส่วนที่มีส่วนร่วมทำให้งานในครั้งนี้สำเร็จลุล่วงด้วยดี
On 19 July 2026, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, together with officials of the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm, Team Thailand offices, and their families, attended the ceremony commemorating the 129th anniversary of King Chulalongkorn's visit to Ragunda, held at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Building in Bispgården, Ragunda Municipality. The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Anton Hammar, Mayor of Ragunda, with more than 400 visitors from the Thai and Swedish communities at the event.
The Ambassador delivered the remarks, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn and reaffirming the Embassy's continued commitment to strengthening Thai-Swedish relations. Mr. Anton Hammar, in turn, affirmed the historic importance of the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Building in bridging the two countries, noting that it has laid the foundation for a Thai-Swedish relationship that continues to grow closer and more advanced across all dimensions. On behalf of Ragunda Municipality and the people of Sweden, the Mayor also expressed condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati.
A highlight of this year's event was a programme of seven traditional Thai performances presented by the Chulalongkorn University Thai Traditional Youth Orchestra (ChulaThaiYO), who travelled from Thailand especially for this occasion. The performances included the Mahachulalongkorn Overture, dances in honour of King Rama V, the Khon masked drama depicting a battle scene from the Ramakien, a showcase of eight styles of royally favoured Thai national dress, the Lao Phaen musical piece, the Manorah ritual dance, and a newly composed contemporary piece created especially for this anniversary. The performances drew an enthusiastic response from the audience, leaving a lasting impression on both the Thai and Swedish communities present.
In addition, the festive atmosphere was further enriched by stalls run by the local Thai community, offering a variety of Thai food and desserts, as well as Thai products, which drew considerable interest from both Thai and Swedish visitors and served as another meaningful platform for sharing Thai culture and way of life with the local community. The Royal Thai Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to all parties whose support made this year's commemoration a success.
