Yesterday, we said farewell to our 2026 summer interns and law fellows. During their time with us, they contributed to work that strengthens oversight, accountability, and public trust across New York State government.

We’re grateful to Alana, Anna, Benjamin, Charlie, Drew, Grace, Jared, Jhoselyn, Julia, Kayla, Kristen, Lindsey, Lorelai, Melissa, Monica, Nicholas, Robert, Rohan, Roseley, Shamar, and Tasha for all they brought to the Office this summer. We wish them all the best in what comes next!

This month, we’ve been shining a light on Kristine Hamann’s tenure as New York State Inspector General. Today, she serves as founder and executive director of the Prosecutors’ Center for Excellence, continuing her commitment to integrity and excellence in prosecution.

We recently held Public Service at 250 at the The Buffalo History Museum, bringing together voices from across the State to discuss how public service has evolved and how government works for the people of New York State.

New York State’s first Inspector General, Joseph Spinelli, visited our New York City office yesterday for a fireside chat with our summer interns!

Forty years after establishing this Office, it was an honor to welcome him back and hear him reflect on its founding, share stories from his career in public service, and offer invaluable advice to our interns as they begin their own public service journeys.
