This September, in recognition of Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month, the New York State Legislative Women’s Caucus is bringing women’s health to the table.

Today, LWC welcomed Dr. Elizabeth Tubridy, MD, at White Plains Hospital, for an important conversation on gynecologic cancers, prevention, screening, HPV, early detection, and the importance of being informed and proactive about our health.

We also explored the connection between women’s health, maternal health, and healthy beginnings for our babies — because protecting women’s health means investing in healthier families and communities.

From knowing when to schedule your screenings to understanding changes in your body, knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have.

💅 “I’m just a girl…” — but the math is real.

From childcare and housing to healthcare, transportation, student loans, and building a career, women are navigating financial realities that go far beyond everyday spending.

What we call “Girl Math” can sometimes reveal a much bigger conversation about economic security, family support, and the policies that shape women’s lives.

Women shouldn’t have to put one dream on hold to pursue another. We deserve the opportunity to build careers, care for our families, pursue our goals, and enjoy life — without having to choose which one we can afford.
