With the first one tomorrow - Join the City of Albany, Capitalize Albany Corporation, and Empire State Development in June for three (3) Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) Technical Assistance Workshops. As part of Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs' continued focus on expanding access to opportunity and resources across Albany’s neighborhoods, workshops will be offered in multiple locations throughout the city to make technical assistance more accessible to businesses, nonprofits, developers, and community organizations. To date, through the NYS REDC Initiative, more than $9 billion has been awarded to more than 11,000 job creation and community development projects consistent with each region's strategic plan. These sessions will help participants better understand available funding opportunities, navigate the application process, and strengthen project proposals ahead of CFA submissions. Attendees will receive guidance on eligibility, project readiness, application strategies, and available resources to support competitive applications.

Nice! Stacks Espresso Bar at 90 State Street is officially open. Its new second downtown Albany location is a decade in the making after opening its first Downtown location at 488 Broadway, with this latest strategic investment Stacks Espresso Bar has grown to five locations total in the Region. Congratulations to the Stacks Espresso team! Learn more via WNYT NewsChannel 13 below.

This expansion places Stacks Espresso in the heart of downtown’s central business district among its residential population which is poised for growth, steps from the capitol and adjacent to Albany’s evolving warehouse district.

Made possible through the Downtown Albany Retail Grant Program, Stacks Espresso Bar received a matching grant award to complete renovations of The new 1,104-square-foot space, which expands beyond the building’s former Stagecoach Coffee’s space into an adjoining area. The Downtown Albany Retail grant program is supported by the City of Albany Capital Resource Corporation (CRC) and administered by Capitalize Albany Corporation.

This is Stacks Espresso Bar’s second award and project supported through the matching grant program which also assisted with renovations of its first downtown location at 488 Broadway.

Stacks Espresso began on Lark Street and then in 2016 expanded to Broadway in Albany, its other locations are in the NYS Museum with its Carousel Cafe and on Third Street in downtown Troy.

Since its inception in 2016, the Downtown Albany Retail Grant Program has proven to be an advantageous tool in attracting new, and supporting the expansion of existing downtown businesses. The program has supported more than a dozen new and expanding businesses in recent years, helping revitalize the city’s urban core. Since its launch, the program has leveraged more than $2 million in private investment and helped attract a diverse mix of restaurants, retailers, and creative spaces including The Bevy Vintage Collective, Viva Empanadas, Loch & Quay, and Stacks Espresso Bar.
