Today, that happened.

We were honored to welcome Chief Amal E. Awad to Elephant in the Room. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving our community are second to none, and it was truly a privilege to have her join us.

Dangerous heat, high humidity, and severe thunderstorms are threatening our region today, prompting weather officials to issue a heat advisory for Washington, DC and surrounding areas. Forecasters warn that a combination of high temperatures and humidity could drive heat index values up to 105 degrees; conditions that can quickly cause heat-related illnesses. Please drink plenty of fluids, try to stay out of the sun, go in air-conditioned buildings when possible, and check on your fellow Brothers and Sisters. Stay safe!
