Today, the 449th session of the Maryland General Assembly will adjourn sine die. I wish all legislators a productive and purpose driven day as they conclude their work on behalf of the Marylanders they serve.

But what does “sine die” mean?

The term “sine die” is a Latin phrase that literally means “without a day” or “without setting a day.” In politics, it is used to signify the end of a legislative session without a specific date being set for the next session.
