This Thursday evening, J.Tom Morgan will join us at the Athens-Clarke County Library to discuss his new book, A Rainy Night in Georgia. The book follows the shocking assassination of DeKalb County Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown in his driveway just days before he was to take office and J.Tom's prosecution of the case. The book is part true-crime thriller, part courtroom story, part memoir, and part reflection on the risks and responsibilities of pursuing justice when the stakes are everything.

Paul Kurtz, Associate Dean and Hosch Professor Emeritus (and J.Tom's former law professor) will be the conversation partner.

Beginning this Thursday, Libby and Kanopy users will need both a library card number and PIN to sign in. Don't worry - your checkouts, holds, and reading history will not be affected.

Your PIN will be the same one you use for you PINES account, so make sure you have it handy. Don't have a library card? Now is a great time to sign up online at gapines.org or at your Athens Regional Library System branch.

A little reminder to join us at the Athens-Clarke County Library on Monday, October 12th, for a fun afternoon of plant swapping and seed sorting from 4 PM to 6 PM! Plants, seeds, cuttings, sprouts, and bulbs are all welcome.

In honor of her birthday, we're taking inspiration from her traditional applique style and making a community quilt.
