Today we honor the profound loss of someone who shared every holiday, every birthday, every high and low across more than 60 years of marriage. We are holding our dear friend, Paulwyn Boliek, close as he remembers his wife, who would have been 89.

Paulwyn gives so much to our members and staff through his kind heart, thoughtful observations, and generous spirit.

This week, we placed a bench in the open green space beside Via in her honor. It stands as a quiet place for reflection, and as a testament to the love they shared. We are deeply grateful for the meaningful gift that made this tribute possible, one that will bring comfort and connection to so many.

Growing purpose, one pepper at a time.

This Via member harvested a beautiful pepper from our garden, which is a part of the 18 raised beds our members care for each week. At Via, hands‑on activities like gardening create joy, connection, and healthy habits. Every seed planted is a step toward purpose, accomplishment, and nourishing nutrition. 🌱💛

Scientists have identified a new way Alzheimer’s may spread inside the brain, showing how tau proteins move between cells and revealing a potential path to slow or interrupt that process. The findings offer a clearer scientific understanding that could guide future treatment development.

The findings point to the brain's own communication machinery unknowingly contributing to the spread of the disease.
