Ahead of schedule? Now THAT’S an airport construction update we love to share. 🙌✈️

Another phase of Taxiway Alpha is complete, putting us in a great position as we keep making the most of every remaining day of Maine’s construction season.

A huge shoutout to the crews from Gordon Contracting Inc and everyone working behind the scenes to keep this project moving safely and efficiently! There’s still work to be done, but every freshly paved stretch gets us one step closer to a stronger BGR.

And yes… we know what season comes after construction season. We’re simply choosing not to discuss it yet. 😂❄️

The crew flipped another phase AHEAD of schedule at the Bangor International Airport. 8186 TONS of pavement placed this week by the paving crew in Bangor and Greenville.

When Maine Football Head Coach Jordan Stevens joined us on 𝑶𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒍𝒚, he gave us a behind-the-scenes look at what a night on the road really looks like for the Black Bears- from the travel itself to those important hours at the hotel spent eating together, playing games, building friendships and strengthening the connections that make this team feel like family.

Well… now they’re taking us along for the ride. 🐻💙

We loved getting to see exactly what Coach was talking about, because getting there is only part of the journey. The moments in between matter, too.

Tina, Joki, and Tom work alongside their partners from the Bangor Police Department Airport Division, helping keep our airport, our aircraft, and all the people who pass through BGR safe each and every day.

They're hardworking. They're highly trained. They're always ready to answer the call. And yes... they're also the bestest pups around. ❤️🐾

At BGR, we know the things people carry through our terminal aren't always valuable because of what they cost. Sometimes, they're valuable because of who they connect us to. ❤️

A collection of family photographs was recently found at the airport, and looking through these faces, celebrations and moments, one thing is pretty clear: these memories belong to someone, and we'd really love to get them home.

Sometimes, the best airport adventures aren't on the itinerary. ✈️💙

BGR's Marketing team was about to sit down for lunch today when we spotted the look...a family peering toward the café windows, clearly hoping to see some airplanes.

Turns out, 7-year-old Christian loves airplanes and airports, and his family had driven up from southern Maine during their vacation specifically so he could see BGR. (His teenage sister Isabella's love of Stephen King made Bangor a pretty great stop for everyone.)

Then Christian flashed us that smile. Clearly we didn't stand a chance. 😉 We sprang into impromptu action, and before long, some BGR swag turned into a visit to Airport Dispatch, meeting Assistant Airport Director Francis Robbins, an airfield ride and even a stop inside a community hangar to see some airplanes up close.

Later, his family sent us these photos and told us Christian called it “the best experience of his life” and couldn't wait to call his grandparents and tell them all about it. 🥹

Christian, that smile made our day, too. Keep looking up, buddy. We hope there are a whole lot more airplanes in your future. 🛫 Torres family, thanks so much for stopping by!!!
