๐Ÿš’ New Barnstable Fire Station Construction Update ๐Ÿšง

Work continues to progress on the new Barnstable Fire Station, and we are excited to share several new milestones with our community.

The south retaining wall is nearing completion, marking another significant step forward in site development. Exterior work continues with the installation of base-level siding and weatherproofing on both the pitched roof sections and exterior walls.

Inside the building, crews are making steady progress with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC rough installations. In the apparatus bay area, underground plumbing work is nearly complete, preparing the way for future floor pours and additional interior construction.

Over the coming weeks, residents will begin to see even more visible progress as window installation gets underway and roofing operations begin.

We are grateful for the continued support of the residents and taxpayers of the Barnstable Fire District. Your investment and confidence in this project are helping us build a modern, safe, and efficient facility that will serve our community for generations to come.

Thank you for your continued support as we move one step closer to our new home.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Thank You, Mrs. Joan Ellis! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The Barnstable Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mrs. Joan Ellis for her generous donation that made it possible to purchase, install, and maintain more than 40 American flags along the telephone poles on Main Street in Barnstable Village.

This thoughtful gift is made in memory of her husband, Jim Ellis, and serves as a wonderful tribute as our nation celebrates the 250th birthday of the United States of America this Fourth of July.

The beautiful display of flags throughout our village center reflects the pride, patriotism, and community spirit that make Barnstable Village so special. Thanks to Mrs. Ellis' generosity, residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy this meaningful display for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Mrs. Joan Ellis for helping honor our nation's history and for making this project possible for the entire Barnstable community.

And a special thank you to our members who installed these flags.

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ—๏ธ New Fire Station Construction Update ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿš’

Over the past few weeks, significant progress has continued on the construction of Barnstable Fire Department's new headquarters.

Work crews have been busy completing critical infrastructure improvements, including sewer connections, construction of the exterior walls, and the final concrete pours for all floors within the administration wing. Another exciting milestone has been reached as roofing work has now begun, further shaping the future home of your fire department.

In the coming weeks, crews will focus on completing the retaining walls, grading the site, and continuing the installation of underground plumbing and electrical systems within the apparatus bays.

Each week brings visible progress, and we are excited to share these milestones with our community as this project continues to take shape.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the voters of the Barnstable Fire District for your continued support of this important project. Your investment is helping us build a modern facility that will serve our members and community for generations to come.

Thank you for following along on this journey. Stay tuned for more updates as construction continues!

๐Ÿš’MARINE RESPONSE TRAININGโš“
Over the past two days, members of the Barnstable Fire Department participated in annual marine operations training on Cape Cod Bay alongside our regional response partners from the Sandwich Fire Department, U.S. Coast Guard Station Cape Cod Canal, and U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod.

This valuable training brings together fire department marine units, U.S. Coast Guard Motor Lifeboats, and rotary-wing aircraft to conduct a variety of realistic response scenarios in a challenging marine environment. Beyond the operational skills gained, these exercises provide an opportunity for responders from different agencies to work side-by-side, build relationships, and strengthen the coordination that is essential during real-world emergencies.

Training like this is critical to ensuring our personnel are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and rescue operations on the water. The relationships and experience developed during these exercises help improve the safety of both responders and the public we serve.

We would like to thank all of the agencies and personnel involved for their continued commitment to this annual training opportunity and for their dedication to protecting our coastal communities.
