Rocky Ridge Fire District Week in Review:
5/16/2020 through 5/22/2020

Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 64 alarms this week. We started our week by receiving a Proclamation by the Governor declaring this week as EMS Week, a tradition started by President Ford in 1974. We have finished our spring mulching project. On Tuesday, we received our Binder Lift System to demo. The Binder Harness has many handles, assembles easily around patients who fall and helps our personnel safely lift these patients out of the floor. We continued to make progress with our monthly hydrant painting. Thank you to “Thatsgreatnews.com” for the Healthcare Hero plaque you sent. Stay safe and have a great Memorial Day weekend!

We would like to take this opportunity to salute our telecommunication partners. This is National Public Safety Telecommunicator's Week 2020. These hard working men and women are the first point of contact the public has with the first responders team. We cannot express enough graditude that we have for our partners at the Jefferson County 9-1-1 Center. Your work is amazing! We hope to visit and thank you in person once the Covid-19 crisis is over. Thank you so much for all that you do.

On another positive note, we received our radios this week from a 2019 HLS grant of $50,000.00. These radios will be programmed next week and go into our fleet as soon as possible. Rocky Ridge Fire District Week in Review:
3/21/2020 through 3/27/2020

Rocky Ridge Fire District responded to 49 alarms this week. COVID-19 briefings and training continue daily. We have been isolating and practicing our social distancing as much as possible. The exception is we are getting outside for some fresh air during hose testing. Some dispatch procedures have changed. You will be asked Covid-19 rule out questions when calling 9-1-1. Also, the 9-1-1 operator may discuss with you the possibility of coming outside to meet our responders as this is a safer way to make patient contact when possible. Please continue to practice good, common sense measures to protect yourselves while our community, country and world battle this COVID-19 disease. Stay safe and have a great weekend!
