On April 12, 25 Rocky Ridge teachers and staff participated in the inaugural Butterfly 5K in support of Anna’s Arms.

We are especially proud to stand alongside our very own Hannah Hardy, a first grade teacher at Rocky Ridge, who walked in honor of her daughter, Anna.

A huge congratulations to Mrs. Speer, another one of our outstanding 5th grade teachers, for being awarded a $1,000 grant from Alabama Power and the Alabama Power Foundation!

Her project, “Page-Turners & Pace Setters: Building Reading Endurance,” was selected after careful consideration—and we couldn’t be more proud!

This is what it looks like when educators go above and beyond for their students. Mrs. Speer, thank you for your dedication, your creativity, and the care you pour into your classroom every single day.

Look at this transformation!

Ms. Michelson, a 5th grade teacher at Rocky Ridge, poured countless hours into creating these beautiful curtains for our cafeteria. What many don’t see are the behind-the-scenes moments—time spent during spring break and beyond, using her own personal time to bring this vision to life.

This was more than a project—this was love, care, and dedication to our students and our school. Because of her, our students and teachers now get to enjoy a warm, inviting space each day.

It’s the things done when no one is watching that make the biggest impact.

Nothing done for our school and our children goes unnoticed.
We proudly celebrate and thank Ms. Michelson for all she has poured into Rocky Ridge. 💙

A special thank you to Mrs. Shirin for adding the beautiful finishing touches with the bows that made it even more special.

We are also grateful to our PTO and the families who support them, helping make projects like this possible for our students.

Good Morning & Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day

Today we celebrate a group that truly deserves to be seen.

Some days are challenging.
Some days are filled with laughter.
And through it all, our paraprofessionals show up — steady, patient, and full of heart.

They step in wherever needed… carpool, classrooms, the front office, lunchroom, playground, supporting students one-on-one, and so much more that often goes unseen.

They live out what matters most:
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
And our paraprofessionals show that kind of care every single day.

They are not just helpers — they are essential.
