Bismarck Police Department Investigating Fatal Crash on Main Ave

Bismarck, ND – The Bismarck Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 9:14 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of Main Avenue and West Rosser Avenue.

A Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Kallen Omen of Sheyenne, ND, was traveling westbound on Main Avenue when it struck the rear passenger side of a Ford pickup driven by 19-year-old Braxton Dollinger of Bismarck.

Dollinger was proceeding northeast from Main Avenue onto Rosser Avenue after leaving a stopped position.

Omen was pronounced dead at the scene. Bismarck Police traffic officers responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

At this time, no determination has been made regarding whether any traffic violations occurred. The investigation remains active as traffic investigators continue to follow up on evidentiary leads.

During National Police Week, we pause to remember and honor Sgt. Kenner, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on July 8, 2011.

Today, Chief Stugelmeyer and Sgt. Kenner’s wife, Deb Kenner, will have the opportunity to participate in the North Dakota Fallen Police Officer Memorial Highway Dedication procession. Mile Marker 193 on Highway 200 near Underwood will now stand as a lasting tribute to Sgt. Kenner’s service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting others.

Sgt. Kenner is dearly missed each and every day. His sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy continues to live on within our department, our community, and the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

We honor you, Sgt. Kenner.
