We're in for another warm and dry end to the weekend as above-average temperatures continue, though it will feel a touch cooler than Saturday. Most areas will stay dry, though an isolated shower can't be ruled out in Park County before summer-like heat returns to the plains on Monday.

September 2026 was an abnormally warm one, ending up the 4th warmest September on record for Denver (records began in 1872). Precipitation came in above normal at the official reporting station at 2.23" (normal is 1.35"), while below normal precipitation was aboved in the northwest portions of metro Denver, and much above normal precipitation fell in the southeast Denver suburbs. No snow fell in the month of September for the 6th straight year.

Warmer and drier conditions are expected across the forecast area today, with showers gradually diminishing through the morning across the eastern plains. Above normal temperatures are expected across our northern counties, while below normal temperatures remain generally south of I-76. Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with above normal temperatures continuing across most of the forecast area.

Quiet and seasonable weather returns for Thursday and Friday! Temperatures will be a bit on the cooler side on Thursday, with 60s and low 70s over the plains and 50s-60s in the mountains. A warming trend will begin on Friday and continue through the weekend, with afternoon highs over the plains and Denver metro reaching the upper 70s to low 80s.

Widespread rain will continue today over southern Colorado, but struggle to spread northward across the Denver area. Occasional light rain is expected for the Denver area, mainly southern parts. Heavier rainfall will be found along, south, and east of the Palmer Divide where Flood Watches remain in effect. Little to no rain is expected for northern parts of the urban corridor.
