Huge congratulations to our very own Frank Connors on his Citizen of the Year award!!! Frank was our Membership Coordinator and more for over 20 years and is a "volunteer extraordinaire" in so many ways in multiple communities! This is a well deserved award!

Come celebrate Frank at the Community Leadership Awards!

Frank has been a huge community fixture for years throughout our region and has a long list of accomplishments, with most of them being all about service. Frank has been, or continues to be, a veteran, a newspaper writer/photographer, house painter, town manager of Bowdoinham (1978), selectman, sexton, handyman, author, gardener and critical volunteer for People Plus.

In 2025 alone he made over 2,000 calls to people on their birthday. Come celebrate Frank and the 7 other award winners, this Thursday night.

The Community Leadership Awards (CLAs) is an event of the Bath Brunswick Topsham Regional Chamber. This summer-party style event features live music from Second Wind (a Jimmy Buffet-esque band), great food, networking with dozens of business leaders, and an awards presentation for the eight honorees.

The CLAs are happening this Thursday, June 18 at Live Well Farm in Harpswell (1583 Harpswell Neck Road, Harpswell). Tickets are still available on the Bath Brunswick Topsham Regional Chamber website at MidcoastMaine.com (scroll down from the header and you will see the event logo and link). The Town of Brunswick, Brunswick Downtown Association, Pejepscot History Center, Midcoast Symphony Orchestra, ArtVan, and The Mix are hosting America's 250th Birthday on the Mall Saturday, June 27 from 10am-1pm. Put this one on the calendar and bring lawn chairs and a picnic!

Family crafts, history displays and demonstrations, a Colonial cake contest, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and the Midcoast Symphony Orchestra performing American music are just some of the highlights. Thank you to the Maine State Music Theatre Singers for their performance at People Plus today! We love their annual visit and the chance for our audience to get to know this year's Singers as they answer fun questions about themselves between songs.

People Plus is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and that includes a 50 year partnership with MSMT including Victoria Crandall holding rehearsals in the old PP space on Noble Street. And one of the PP members in the audience today was in one of the first shows!! Thanks Maine State Music Theatre!
