Thanks to these incoming Bowdoin College students for spending some time volunteering at the library yesterday, helping to scrub the Bookmobile clean inside and out, and painting some benches and tables in the Reading Garden. Following a tour of the library and signing up for their new Curtis library cards, this class of 2030 gathered for a group photo below the mezzanine and the bust of our philanthropic founder William J. Curtis, Bowdoin Class of 1875.

Over 640 books in 3 years! That's how many titles Colette has read thanks to support from her Books on Wheels volunteer Victoria. We recently sat down with this dynamic duo at Thornton Hall and learned how the nuns at St. John's Catholic School inspired Colette's love of reading, along with weekly class visits to Curtis! At 91, Colette inspires us all with her joie de vivre and love of a good book. Click to watch.

Step into a story where imaginations soar and little bodies become part of the adventure! Through playful storytelling, movement, breath, and mindfulness, children and their caregivers will stretch, wiggle, balance, and breathe their way through a magical tale together. Designed for children ages 0–5 with a caregiver (older siblings are welcome!), this joyful class nurtures creativity, coordination, and body awareness while supporting emotional regulation and confidence. Caregivers are invited to join the fun, creating meaningful moments of connection while enjoying the grounding benefits of gentle movement and mindful breathing.

No yoga experience is needed—just bring your curiosity, your imagination, and a blanket or mat to practice on! Led by Gretchen Henderson of Sundara Yoga.
