A 2022-2023 survey by the Public Library Association found that a majority of adult learners are immigrants, refugees, or multilingual speakers, with 58% of participants in adult ed programs enrolled in ELL and ESL classes.

These learners bring a wealth of linguistic and cultural resources, but they may find it challenging to navigate a different educational system.

Competent adult education programs recognize learners’ diverse backgrounds, respect cultural practices, and encourage learning environments where experiences are shared and valued.

We could not be more grateful to Buffalo & Erie County Public Library for their decades of continued collaboration with LBN.

LBN would like to thank Erie County Legislator Jeanne Vinal for hosting “A Night of Consideration” on April 23! We were especially thrilled to see attendees show interest in our work, and have the opportunity to share more about what we do. ❤️

Do you know that only 16% of adults actually read for pleasure? That's an astounding statistic! LBN encourages all our supporters and followers to incorporate reading into their spare time, especially outside with nice weather on its way to WNY. ☀️
