The Citizens Academy spent some time with CFD tonight!

Participants learned about fire investigations, got an up close look at our apparatus, toured the station, and checked out our turnout gear room.

We enjoyed having everyone with us and look forward to seeing them again next week for another evening with our Firefighters.

What a great turn out for our annual CFD Open House!

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend part of your Saturday with us. We hope you had a great time and learned a thing or two about fire safety.

Don't forget this year's Fire Prevention Week theme: Safe Charging is a Superpower! Developing safe charging habits can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer.

Fire Station No. 1 had the perfect front row seat for the Festival of Lights fireworks in Heritage Park the other night! It was such a great show, and we loved being able to enjoy the festivities right from the station.

Fireworks Safety Tip: Always soak used fireworks in a bucket of water before throwing them away. Fireworks can stay hot long after they’ve gone off, so make sure they’re completely cooled before disposal.
