🚨 SUSPECT SOUGHT: ATTEMPTED MURDER INVESTIGATION 🚨
The Iowa City Police Department and Cedar Rapids Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting that occurred in downtown Iowa City on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
While the incident took place near the University of Iowa campus, investigators believe the suspect is from the Cedar Rapids area and may be located there now. An arrest warrant has been issued for five counts of Attempted Murder.
How You Can Help
If you have any information regarding the suspect's whereabouts, or if you have video footage or photos from the Pedestrian Mall during the early morning hours of April 19, please come forward. Even a small detail could be the missing piece of the puzzle.

On August 27, 2025, at approximately 12:52 AM, the Linn County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance at 1320 Franklin St, Center Point.

The victim, 36-year-old Trent Pray of Center Point, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries from a knife.

A person of interest, 30-year-old Riley Young, also of Center Point, left the scene and has not been located.

If you see or have contact with Young, do not approach him. Call your local authorities or submit a tip anonymously through Linn County Crime Stoppers.
