Recovery looks different for everyone.

For some, it means taking the first step toward overcoming a substance use disorder. For others, it means maintaining sobriety one day at a time, rebuilding relationships, securing stable housing, managing a mental health condition, adapting to life after a brain injury, or simply believing that a better future is possible. Whatever the challenge, recovery is a journey that is strengthened through support, connection, and opportunity.

At , we recognize that substance use disorders affect not only individuals, but also families and communities. That's why we invest in programs and partnerships that provide people with the tools, resources, and encouragement needed to achieve and sustain recovery.

One organization making a meaningful impact is Triumph Services. Through peer support and counseling, Triumph Services helps individuals affected by substance use disorders, mental health challenges, trauma, homelessness, re-entry barriers, and brain injury navigate their recovery journey. Their person-centered approach helps participants build coping skills, strengthen support systems, access community resources, and work toward greater independence and stability.

Substance use disorders often occur alongside mental health conditions and, in many cases, a history of trauma or brain injury. These challenges can make recovery more complex, but they also highlight the importance of comprehensive, community-based support. Recovery is about more than abstinence, it's about improving health, restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and creating opportunities for long-term success.

Through community partnerships and grant-funded programs, Mecklenburg County ABC Board is committed to supporting organizations that address the many factors that influence recovery. Together, we are helping individuals and families move toward healthier futures while building stronger, more resilient communities.

It was a pleasure partnering with our friends at the Cornelius Police Department this week to share important boater safety information and resources with neighbors and patrons at a local restaurant in Cornelius.

As boating season gets underway, education and awareness play a key role in helping keep our waterways safe for everyone. Thank you to the Cornelius Police Department and LakeHouse Wine Bar & Grill for helping us connect with the community and promote safe, responsible fun on the water. 🚤☀️

Summer is almost here, and that means more time on the water, outdoors, and making memories with family and friends. ☀️🚤

Before summer officially kicks off, local boy scouts had the opportunity to enjoy some fun while learning important boating safety tips from Mecklenburg County ABC Law Enforcement at the Joshua Murray Boating Safety Center.

From life jacket awareness to safe practices on the water, these lessons help ensure that summer adventures stay safe and enjoyable for everyone. A special thank you to our law enforcement team and community partners who continue investing in education, prevention, and positive experiences for our youth. 🌟 Showing Up and Showing Out at Store 20 – University City! 🌟

A big shoutout to Joy and the team at Meck ABC Spirits Store 20 on University City Boulevard for delivering an outstanding customer experience.

One customer recently shared:

⭐ "Great selection of bourbons, but what makes this store a great store is the staff. They are super friendly and helpful."

At Meck ABC, great products are important—but it's our people who make the difference. Thank to the entire Store 20 team, for living the Meck ABC Way and creating a welcoming experience for every customer who walks through the door.
