Here's the journey from field to glass:

🫧 Yeast is added to kick off fermentation.
🔥 The liquid is distilled.
🛢️ Here's where the magic really happens — the spirit goes into brand-new, charred oak barrels.

🥃 Ever wondered why it's called "bourbon"? The name actually traces back to the House of Bourbon — the French royal dynasty — which left its mark on American places like Bourbon County, Kentucky, and Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Historians still debate which one gave the whiskey its famous name, and honestly, that mystery makes the story even more interesting.

Here's something a lot of people don't know: bourbon doesn't have to be made in Kentucky. It can be produced anywhere in the United States, as long as it meets the federal requirements. What IS certain is that Congress officially recognized bourbon as a "distinctive product of the United States" back in 1964 — a title it's more than earned.
