In this difficult time, it has been great to have people offer to help in any way possible. Cleburne Fire would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Karen Mercer Cowan and her amazing staff at Cowan Costumes here in Cleburne. Karen and her staff are in the process of completing hundreds of fabric masks for CFD and CPD! Today, Lieutenant Paul Rodriguez picked up the initial part of the run and you will see Cleburne's First Responders wearing them when we are in areas that we cannot maintain physical distancing! Thank you again to the wonderful people at Cowan Costumes!

It's with great sorrow and a heavy heart that Cleburne Fire announces the loss of one of our own. John Rollen passed away yesterday and left a huge hole in the lives and hearts of so many. He was a big man with an even bigger heart, a smile that made others smile, and a laugh that lit up a room. Big John started at CFD on 9/1/1974. He retired on 3/31/2008 with 33 years and 7 months of service to the residents of Cleburne. He was a loving man who raised a great family and he will be missed terribly. Everyone grieves differently, but I encourage people to leave a comment with a great memory, funny story, picture, a lesson he taught you, whatever you can share to show love to John's legacy and the family and friends mourning his passing. These two pictures were taken by Stephen Bicknell while he was preparing for a kitchen safety class. That's the Big John smile we remember. RIP Big John, you will be missed...we have the watch from here.

This past Sunday I was so proud and honored to be among some of the finest men I know as we honored the life and legacy of our Brother Firefighter, Mike (Spud) Kilpatrick. Mike served 31 years with CFD. His last alarm on this earth was on May 15, 2018. I would like to thank CFD for a wonderful turnout of both active duty and retired Firefighters, many of whom served with Mike. Mike is a Guardian to us all now. And he will forever be. Thanks, my Brothers. Stay safe.

I am simply sick and heartbroken that your city officials wouldn't work with the kitten rescue workers to save litters of baby kittens before tearing down a building in your city. How could anyone be so heartless? Why go in a day early when you know that innocent lives will surely be taken? I don't know how anyone who could have stepped up and helped these people save the kittens and didn't can live with themselves. Disgraceful. Not everything is about money. Sometimes it's about love, compassion and kindness.
