Two weeks from today, Clinton residents will vote in the June 9 Special Election for the renewal of the 2% Parks and Recreation Restaurant Tax.

When the program was first introduced in 2022, the City shared that residents were asking for more quality-of-life amenities and recreational opportunities than the City’s general budget could support alongside essential priorities like public safety and infrastructure. Like many communities, Clinton faced growing pressure to enhance parks and recreation facilities while balancing other critical needs.

Since voters approved the 2% tax, the program has helped fund improvements to parks and recreation facilities across Clinton, including playgrounds, pickleball courts, restroom facilities, and other park enhancements throughout the community.
