The long awaited fall 2026 Tiger Battalion!

These midshipmen have been the hardest working, most dedicated leaders. Putting their people ahead of themselves, they have been the true staple of naval service.

What a week to be a Mizzou Midshipman!

First, we had the opportunity conduct the color guard for Mizzou football vs Texas A&M. While we were on the field, we bumped into crew from the USS Columbia!

Next, our first batch of 4th class midshipmen completed their color guard qualifications. Their attention to detail and dedication to service met the standard of a Mizzou midshipman. Now, they are ready to take on the color guards that we proudly conduct.

Lastly, we had the distinct privilege of receiving “Stop The Bleed” training, courtesy of the Mizzou Sinclair School of Nursing. This training is crucial for future development, as our midshipman go into future combat. A special thanks to Rebecca Ulmer and Kim Oeth for instructing the battalion on such important skills.

This week, Navy option midshipmen received important training in basic damage control. In the fleet, all sailors are required to have fire fighting training, as well as casualty maintenance training.

Last week, we honored MIDN Boswell with the midshipman of the month award. MIDN Boswell demonstrated exceptional leadership, commitment, and dedication. His work ethic and strong character support strong officer development within our unit.

MIDN Helle received the warhammer, for his outstanding initiative in color guard training. His time and effort spent is exemplary, as a Mizzou midshipman.

Today, we honor the lives of those lost on September 11th, 2001. 25 years ago, 2977 innocent people were killed, and will never be forgotten. The tragic events of 9/11 brought us as Americans closer, uniting our country in such a time of grief. Let us remember.

Captain Jack Punches graduated the University of Missouri in 1973, and commissioned into the United States Navy as a naval aviator. Captain Punches was stationed at the pentagon during the events of 9/11, and was killed that day. We remember his sacrifice.

Yesterday, midshipmen from Mizzou NROTC had the amazing opportunity to conduct a joint color guard alongside Mizzou Army ROTC and MIZZOU AFROTC DETACHMENT 440 at the first Mizzou football game of the season. The color guard midshipmen demonstrated the highest levels of discipline and honor.

Earlier that afternoon, Navy option midshipmen were introduced to life as a junior officer. This brief went into detail on how living and working is, as a young officer in the Navy.

NSO Day 3!

4/C midshipmen have completed New Student Orientation!
Day 3 began with a memorial PT to honor Lieutenant William Emerson, 2ndLt Mark Gelina, and Captain Jack Punches. This PT included a run, ammo can presses, pushups, and more. In the classroom, 4/C midshipmen were introduced to academic resources and conducted a tactical decision game. Drill remained a key part of NSO, as the 4/C honed their marching with the unit’s Color Sergeant. Lastly, the 4/C were officially welcomed into the unit by our BNCO and Commanding Officer.

A special shout out to the NSO Staff who planned, executed, and delivered this training exercise.

NSO Day 2!

4/C midshipmen conducted a fitness test early this morning, were briefed by the Commanding Officer, and marched as a platoon. Our midshipmen instructors are working hard to train and introduce the 4/C to Mizzou NROTC!

New Student Orientation has kicked off! Mizzou NROTC 4/C Midshipmen have begun the start of their academic career, and their steps towards naval service.

Day 1 is filled with classroom introductions to Naval ROTC, physical training, drill, and life on campus.

⭐️Pictures 4-7: MIDN 2/C Broad, Nicholson, Seibman and Willey went to RTC Great Lakes for New Student Indoctrination (NSI) during cycle 3 ⭐️Pictures 8-10: MIDN 1/C Ousley went on an Information Warfare (IW) cruise out of Hawaii
⭐️Pictures 11-14: MIDN 1/C Ney went to Seattle Fleet Week and San Diego, CA for a Surface Warfare Cruise
