Living Tradition

On Friday 01 MAY 2026, the Tiger Battalion gathered at The Club at Old Hawthorne for their annual Dining Out event. The evening was filled with camaraderie, laughter, good memories, and hopes for the future. As the last major event of the year, Dining Out is a time for the Mizzou Midshipmen to reflect on all they have accomplished this year before beginning the work to prepare for a new school year. This was also an opportunity for our 1/C midshipmen to pass on
valuable knowledge and advice, as well as mementos from their time in the unit. Dining Out served as a chance to gather one last time and celebrate all that has been achieved this last year.

Tigers In The Wild

09-10 APR, the Tiger Battalion Marine Options and select Navy Options completed their Spring Field Exercise (FEX).

Over the course of this 36 hour evolution, the midshipmen were put to the test physically and mentally. While operating under stressful conditions, the Tigers honed valuable skills, like land navigation, ground fighting, and small unit leadership evaluations.

FEX serves as a preparation tool for summer cruises that the Marine Options midshipmen will take, such as Fleet Marine Force (FMF), and Officer Candidate School (OCS). As well as, preparing the 1/C midshipmen for The Basic School (TBS), where they will head after commissioning in May.

Why Mizzou: “I chose Mizzou because of the wide variety of opportunities available on campus, and because of the interest I had in its NROTC program.”

What Inspired You To Serve: “I was mostly inspired by my father from a young age as he’s been in the service for over 30 years, but all throughout high school my Senior Chief really inspired me to pursue a career in the Navy and I wouldn’t be here without him.”
