On August 14, 2026, OIU agents worked a joint project with the ATF and Adult Parole Authority in Franklin County to reduce violent crime.

During the operation, agents made seven felony arrests and seized six fi****ms which were illegally possessed. The arrests included three fugitives with felony and misdemeanor warrants, one state parolee who also on federal probation, and two offenders who were found to be STG gang members.

OIU agents recently worked a joint Violent Crime Reduction Detail in Cuyahoga County. The operation resulted in 9 felony arrests,12 fi****ms confiscated, 4 felony fugitives apprehended, 1 stolen vehicle recovered, bulk amounts of suspected fentanyl and crack co***ne confiscated.

Among those arrested were individuals with prior violent felony convictions and two-armed juveniles, 13 and 15 years old. Agents apprehended a violent fugitive facing six open criminal cases, including multiple counts of felonious assault, strangulation, and abduction.

OIU routinely collaborates with law enforcement partners to help prevent violent crime across the State of Ohio and remains committed to this mission within Cuyahoga County and the City of Cleveland.

Agents from the Athens, Cleveland, Columbus, and Central Office participated in the National Night Out hosted at the Westgate Shelterhouse in Columbus.

This community event was presented by the Ace Community House and gave residents the opportunity to engage with many public safety professionals who serve their community. OIU agents presented an interactive educational experience for the attendees to help raise awareness on the dangers involved with underage drinking and impaired driving.

OIU agents recently worked a joint Violent Crime Reduction detail with the Canton Police Department (Ohio), Stark County Sheriff's Office and the ATF.

Agents arrested three subjects for fi****ms violations and seized a total of four fi****ms, two of which were found to be stolen. Additionally, three subjects were booked into jail on outstanding warrants by the Stark Co. Sheriff's Office and Canton Police.

OIU recently worked with Cleveland Division of Police to reduce violent crime in the city’s 5th District.

Through these joint efforts, agents and officers made eight felony arrests and confiscated twelve illegally possessed fi****ms, including two equipped with machine gun conversion devices to make them fully automatic.

OIU remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to disrupt violent crime and keep Ohio communities safe.

OIU recently teamed up with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff for a joint operation in Cleveland. This operation resulted in 7 illegal fi****ms recovered and multiple arrests made, including:
- Violent felons and paroled offenders
- A drug trafficker
- Underage offenders
