Outstanding work by OEMSCA member agency Tri-Village Rescue Services, hosting a blood drive today for the American Red Cross. There is currently a National crisis for life-saving donor blood so whether you’re in western Ohio or elsewhere, now is the time to give.

Rescue is here wondering where you are! TODAY Saturday 8/1 the American Red Cross is at Tri Village Rescue in New Madison from 8am to 1pm taking blood donations!

For only the second time in history the American Red Cross has declared a national crisis. Please stop by and donate if you can! Doughnuts and puppy snuggles will be waiting for you!

OEMSCA member agency Delaware County EMS hosted a huge and very successful community gathering this past weekend. They use this opportunity to bring awareness to their name but also partner with local fellow safety services, gather donations for their local food bank and teach the life-saving skills of hands-only CPR and bleeding control. This sort of focused outreach is at the heart of how 3rd-service EMS agencies serve their community.

Double Delivery Day! Congratulations are also in order for OEMSCA Member agency Gallia County EMS as they take delivery of a new Osage Ambulance. Congratulations to you and your community!

Gallia County EMS would like to introduce a new truck to our fleet: a 2026 Osage purchased from Myers Equipment. Medic 94 is now in service and will help us better serve the needs of our community. We thank the Commissioners for their continued support of our mission, and thank you to every one of you for your support of Gallia County EMS.

There’s likely a gap in the public’s understanding of how prehospital care arrives to their aid after making a 911 call. Hats off to OEMSCA member agency Union Township Life Squad for this informative post which provides great information to close that gap. Great work by OEMSCA VP Chief Weikert who recently met with Ohio House candidate Katie Koehler Wagner for Ohio. Interactions with elected officials and candidates is a crucial component of OEMSCA’s commitment to advocacy for 3rd service EMS. Making all stakeholders aware of what our needs are to serve our community is a central focus of our organization and will continue improve our communities.

Yesterday, Union Township Life Squad had the pleasure of welcoming Katie Koehler Wagner to our station.

Katie reached out after we met during one of her community office hours because she wanted to learn more about our department, the unique needs of our community, and the day-to-day challenges of providing emergency medical services in our rural area. We appreciated the opportunity to share how UTLS serves our residents and discuss the issues that are currently impacting us.

Two things that stood out during her visit were her commitment to listening and readiness for action. Katie has made it a priority throughout her campaign to meet with the people across District 80, hear their perspectives, and better understand the communities she hopes to represent. She has already been in contact with Chief Weikert with ideas on ways to spread awareness and collaborate with other county agencies.

Thank you, Katie, for taking the time to visit Union Township Life Squad! We appreciate leaders and candidates who take the time to engage with first responders and the communities we serve.
