On Saturday, we joined the Northern California Family Child Care Alliance for a community gathering focused on child care advocacy, leadership, and equity in early education.
The most powerful part of the day was hearing directly from bilingual family child care educators, who shared their lived experiences within our early childhood system. Their personal stories highlight what it takes to support children, families, and the workforce every day—and why their voices must be central in shaping policy and practice.
We want to extend our appreciation and congratulations to everyone that made this event a success. This work was made possible through First 5 Contra Costa’s Building Blocks Mini-Grants, funded by Sunlight Giving, which are designed to elevate provider voices, expand engagement in advocacy, and build public awareness to support systems change efforts.
