Babies can recognize familiar sounds, respond to comforting scents, and find warmth, cuddling, gentle touch, and movement soothing. These everyday moments help your little one feel safe, calm, and connected.
Sometimes, the simplest things-your voice, your arms, your presence-mean the most.

🚨 Every September is National Preparedness Month — and this year’s theme is “Americans Stand Ready.”
It’s a powerful reminder that our strength comes from unity, resilience, and the simple steps we take before disaster strikes. When we prepare, we protect ourselves, our families, and our communities.
👉 Build a kit.
You already know how to keep your loved ones safe. Now make sure you have what you need to stay safe, comfortable, and independent until help arrives.
The good news? Building a well-stocked emergency kit doesn’t have to be hard or expensive. Start with what you already have at home and add a few items at a time.
Aim for at least 3 days of supplies, including:
• Flashlights + extra batteries
• First aid kit
• Battery-powered or hand-crank radio (and a NOAA Weather Radio if possible)
• Whistle to signal for help
• Personal hygiene items, moist towelettes, garbage bags
• Dust mask, plastic sheeting, duct tape
• Manual can opener, wrench/pliers
• Local maps
