The combination of light winds and abundant tropical moisture will make the atmosphere favorable for the development of weak tropical funnels today. Most of these funnel clouds will be short lived and usually do not touch the ground. However, you should be prepared to seek shelter in the event a funnel does

There is a HIGH Risk of Rip Currents Saturday…
Source: US National Weather Service Corpus Christi Texas

Summary of Information:
Persisting southeast winds and an increase in swell periods (7-8 seconds) will contribute to a HIGH risk of rip currents Saturday.

South Texas Impacts

Rip currents can sweep even the most experienced swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Rip currents can become life-threatening to anyone entering the surf.

Rip currents are especially likely near piers, jetties, and other structures. Please avoid swimming near structures, piers, or jetties.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

If you have a vulnerable individual in your household, you should consider signing up with the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR)!

While signing up DOES NOT guarantee you will receive any specific services in an emergency event, it does allow emergency planners and emergency responders to be aware and know where help may be needed in the event of an emergency.

Individuals who register for STEAR must sign up annually to keep their registeration current.

We highly encourage you to have an Emergency Plan in place to get out of the area PRIOR to known emergencies like flooding and hurricanes. Depending on the emergency we may or may not be able to reach you. Find out more about the STEAR program below.
