As Hoosiers continue cleaning up from this month’s historic flooding, IDEM is reminding residents to handle waste and debris safely and responsibly.

⚠️ Debris can pose a risk to health and safety if not handled properly. ⚠️

When possible, disaster debris should be separated into the following categories:
1️⃣ Vegetative debris (trees, brush, other natural growth material)
2️⃣ Household hazardous waste (pesticides, household chemicals, and similar items)
3️⃣ Construction/demolition debris (building materials)
4️⃣ Solid waste (general trash/debris)
