As part of our Community Helpers unit, we learned all about firefighters! 🚒 The children enjoyed practicing “Stop, Drop, and Roll” and learning how to stay safe around fire. We also used our imaginations to pretend to be firefighters, working together to put out the flames and save our classroom. We had so much fun learning about these everyday heroes and how they help keep our community safe! 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒🔥

Today, we learned all about doctors and how they help keep us healthy! The children had fun pretending to be doctors as they practiced checking heartbeats, taking temperatures, looking inside ears, and testing their vision. We explored some of the tools doctors use and talked about how they help take care of us when we are sick. We had so much fun learning through hands-on play! ❤️

As we continue learning about farms, we explored how farmers grow and harvest vegetables from the ground. The children learned about the steps farmers take to carefully pick the vegetables, wash away the dirt, and prepare them so they are clean and safe for us to eat. We also talked about how farmers grow and harvest vegetables to sell at grocery stores for families to enjoy. The children are learning how much hard work goes into growing the fresh foods we eat everyday. We are having so much fun discovering all the important things farmers do to help our communities!

This week, we are learning all about farms, the animals that live on them, and the important purposes farms serve. The children worked together to build a barn, sharing their own ideas about what a barn should look like. We talked about the different animals you might find on a farm and the responsibilities farmers have to keep their animals healthy, safe, and well cared for. We also learned how important farms are because they provide many foods we eat every day. The children had a wonderful time working together, sharing ideas, and learning about life on the farm!As we continue exploring our lessons on farming, we wanted to learn how farmers milk cows and where some of our milk comes from. The children had the opportunity to practice milking a cow during a fun, hands-on activity! They learned that farmers must take care of their cows and make sure they are healthy. The children had so much fun pretending to be farmers and trying out this important darn responsibility. We are enjoying learning all about farm life one the farm!
