Meet Samantha - our latest Kid Librarian! Samantha is nine years old and a third grader who loves to read. She often reads after school and likes fantasy and adventure books. She has a pet tortoise!
If your 8-to-12-year-old loves to read, we are taking "job applications" for Kid Librarian! The chosen children will get to pick a theme (or their favorite books) to make a fun book display in the children's room. All books must be from the Juvenile Fiction or Juvenile Non-fiction collections.
Bring your readers in to check out Samantha's display and apply to do their own. If you have already applied please be patient as we have had lots of interest

Do you have something in your attic that is worth a fortune, maybe something that has passed through the generations but just collects dust? Let's find out!

Please join us on Saturday June 6th at the Community Center as we welcome appraiser and historian Dan Meader for an Antiques Road Show-style event. Last month, two duck decoys carved in Massachusetts shattered auction records when they sold for a million dollars each!

We have tried to anticipate your questions but please call the library for more information.
We hope to see a good crowd with lots of interesting stuff!

Save the date!
You won't want to miss this as we kick-off our annual Summer Reading Program with the popular Magic Fred and his dinosaurs! This year's theme is Unearth a Story and we plan to dig up lots of reading adventures and special programs for kids, adults, and teens plus weekly prizes.
Registration for the Summer Reading Program opens on June 1, the program begins on June 22nd and the kick-off event at the Community Center is June 25 at 11 AM.

Two dog events next week - one including Danville PD's superstar K9 Crue and his partner Officer Paddy Capsalis!
Anyone is welcome to come to watch how Crue and his handler work together.
On Wednesday children are invited to read to two wonderful dogs - Gemma and Sassy!

Meet Mia - our latest Kid Librarian! Mia is nine years old and a fourth grader who loves horses and reading! It's no surprise some of her favorite books are about horses including the classic Misty of Chincoteague.
Mia's theme display also includes dogs. She likes to read to her dog Jax!
