Feel Good Friday Post! 😍

Cocalico soccer team’s David Pierdomenico brought big smiles to 5th graders from Denver last night. He not only stopped to talk to them…he also signed their shirts when they asked. 💙🤍💙🤍

Fire Safety Day at Adamstown Elementary gave students a chance to see and learn about the equipment our hometown heroes use to help us in emergency situations. Thank you to all the first responders who came out to spend time at our school!

We asked three students about their takeaways from the experience:

💡Quinn shared that she learned police vehicles have special unbreakable glass windows and no handles on the inside. (Great features for making sure bad guys can't get out!)

💡Rose said she learned the fire department's ladder truck has a special hose for wild fires and a lever for opening and closing a water pump. (How cool is that?!)

💡Maddie (Happy Birthday!) shared she discovered that an ambulance has a bed--that can be also used as a chair--to carry people who need to go to the hospital. (Wow!)

Presenting Cocalico's Global Scholars for 2026-2027! 🌎

Cocalico is proud to partner with the Pennsylvania State Modern
Language Association (PSMLA) Global Scholars Program. The program provides high school students the opportunity to prepare for personal and professional success in an increasingly global societies

🌟All the students listed below in our Spanish and German language curriculum are working toward attaining PSMLA Global Scholar status! 🙌🏽

Here's a glimpse of what these bright students will do achieve their Global Scholar designation.

1. Achieve an average grade of B or better in 4 years of the same world language AND completing 4 additional credits toward graduation in courses that are global in nature.

2. Actively participate in at least 4 extra-curricular, global-focused activities, such as a world language club, a world language national honor society, school-sponsored field trips that explore global aspects, or other community activities with a Global TV component.

3. Be of service for a minimum of 20 hours in an activity that is world languages-related (such as tutoring or volunteering to teach a world language to younger students) or completing 5 hours of internship/job shadowing with a global focus.

4. Review a minimum of 8 pieces of literature (4 must be books).

Join us to honor our community's and country's veterans on Thursday, Nov. 5! This event is free of charge.

🇺🇸 6:15 pm: The Veterans Memorial Garden Re-dedication, featuring high school ceramic poppies created by high school art students - at the entrance of the high school auditorium

🇺🇸 7:00 pm: Special Performances by Cocalico High School Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band, featuring a musical collection celebrating American composers and honoring our veterans - in the high school auditorium

Thank you and 🙌🏽 to Denver Elementary's Eagle Ambassadors--Anna, Brynlee, Paisley, Olivia, and Katherine--for their presentation at the School Board meeting last night! They shared about the "Math in Motion" event (made possible by a Remake Learning Days grant) that they organized for their fellow students last May under the guidance of Miss Barnett.

These motivated students conceptualized the event based on the theme "outdoor learning." They brainstormed, planned, coordinated volunteers, promoted, and executed Math in Motion from start to finish, including managing costs to stay within their $500 budget.

Math in Motion creatively incorporated mathematics into all sorts of outdoor activity stations, such as Skip Count Workout (students skip counted reps of different workout exercises), Farthest Throw Graph (students graphed their farthest throw), Monkey-See-Monkey-Count (students counted how many bar rungs they could traverse), Speed Racer (students timed their fastest run to calculate their speed), and Geometry Bump (with a volleyball net - changing the angle of their arms to see how it affected the direction of the volleyball).

What a phenomenal experience in leadership and collaboration! Way to go! 🤩

🌟 Eagle Excellence Alert! 🌟

Before last evening's school board meeting, board member Desiree Wagner recognized Cocalico senior Emmett Borelli Hoh for Eagle Excellence.

Please join us in celebrating Emmett on his stellar academic achievements with a big round of 👏🏽 🙌🏽

As a National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist, Cocalico senior Emmett is among the less than 1% of the nation’s high school graduating seniors who are the highest scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT test. Only semi-finalists have an opportunity to advance in the competition for Merit Scholarship awards.

In addition, Emmett has received College Board National Recognition as a high-achieving student and is an AP Scholar with Honor. This designation is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Emmett completed four AP courses during the 2025-26 school year, is scheduled for four more AP classes this school year, and has an opportunity to become an AP Scholar with Distinction.

Congratulations, Emmett on all that you've accomplished--and what will surely be many more remarkable achievements ahead!

🎉 Kindergarten ABC Fashion Show! 🎉

Our Adamstown kindergarten students had a BLAST at their ABC Fashion Show last Friday! 👕🔤

Each student decorated their very own vest by picking a letter out of a hat and adding pictures of things that begin with that letter. The creativity and excitement were amazing to see!

Our little fashionistas got to strut their stuff and show off their hard work on the runway, complete with lights and music! 🌟🎶

It was such a fun and memorable way to celebrate the alphabet while learning through creativity, hands-on activities, and a little bit of fashion! ❤️

We are so proud of our stylish kindergarten stars! ✨👟
